Call for Papers

BDVA ’16

The symposium will be held in Sydney, at CSIRO, North Ryde. BDVA ’16 will host an exciting programme with internationally renowned keynote speakers, special sessions, and a day of complimentary hands-on workshops. BDVA ’16 aims to:

  • bring together leading experts from all relevant scientific domains to advance the understanding of visual analytics of complex, big, and dynamic data;
  • provide an exciting venue for researchers to network and establish national and international collaborations;
  • and provide early career scientists with an inspiring event allowing them to connect to relevant experts in the field.


The symposium will accept a range of manuscript types, including methods, systems, applications evaluation techniques and theoretical work in the area of Visual Analytics. The scientific scope of the symposium includes, but is not limited to:

  • Visual Analytics of High-dimensional and Spatio-temporal Data
  • Scientific and Information Visualisation
  • Machine Learning and Data Mining for Big Data Visual Analytics
  • Visual Representation and Interaction
  • Perception and Cognition of Visual Information

Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished regular papers of up to 8 pages that report novel and mature work or poster papers of 2 pages in length that report work in progress or preliminary results. Papers are to be submitted according to the submission guidelines. The conference proceedings will be included in IEEE Xplore. It is a condition of publication that accepted papers are presented by one of the authors. Presenters of accepted papers must register before the camera ready deadline to avoid withdrawal from the conference proceedings and programme.


We also invite posters to be presented at the conference. Please submit your poster according to the submission guidelines until October 1st. Note that regular posters are different from poster papers: posters will be displayed during the conference and will not be included in IEEE Xplore. While the deadline for poster papers has passed, you can still submit a poster until October 1st.
